PARISH OF ST RAPHAEL, COWRA Catechist Sunday celebrations.
Catechist Sunday is a day where the education
in our Public Schools is
acknowledged in the Parish, involving the Scripture teachers, students and their families. This year the church will be celebrating Catechist
Sunday, on 24 June 2012. All
families are welcome to come to Sunday Mass starting at 9.30am which will then follow with morning tea.
It will also be another
opportunity for families to meet their child’s scripture teacher.
It is intended to involve as many children as possible and give them the opportunity to participate in the Liturgy. The scripture teachers will be working
closely with the
children in song and prayer during the weekly scripture lessons in preparation for this but the final practice for the children who will be attending Catechise Sunday Mass will take place on Wednesday, 20 June in the church. Students will be supervised and need to be dropped off at 3.30pm and collected by 4.30pm.
Thank you to those families who contributed to the cost of your child’s scripture book. It is not too late to pay for the books. The $5.00 needs to be forwarded to your child’s scripture teacher. This can be dropped off at the school office.
Small loans of up to $1,000 for the purchase of household items, computers, furniture and some medical and dental services, for people on Health Care Card or Centrelink benefits living in the Local Government areas of Cowra, Cabonne and Grenfell.
