The Trent FM arena is used to hosting
exceptional goaltenders – it is after all
home of the Nottingham Panthers ice

showed they were right up there with
their skate-wearing colleagues (and after
all our goals are a lot bigger!).
Maddie Hinch’s two penalty saves for
Leicester in the final (one in the shoot-

billing. Bowdon Hightown’s Kirsty Mackay
withstood an onslaught from Slough
in their women’s semi and has to take
the credit for Slough’s normally deadly,
Jane Smith-led penalty corner routine
stuttering under the pressure.
Down at the other end, Slough and
England’s Becky Duggan swept up well
in the circle and produced the best save

certain to score.
