ne of the most important aspects of any successful business is the accounting department. The smallest numbers can make the biggest differences so an eye for detail is a must. Fortunately, Exclusive Collections Gallery has a strong group of people on the team, led by the talented Yancy Zhou. Yancy was born in the small town of Wanyuan, China. As she grew up, she realized how powerful and valuable knowledge and an education could be to change her life. This realization propelled her forward with a willingness and dedication to work hard to learn things well. In December of 2004, Yancy

moved to the United States with her husband and earned a Master’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York.

“Dreams make things happen,” she said. “Nothing is impossible.” Yancy’s mother was an accountant and strongly encouraged her to pursue an accounting career as well. Yancy is zealous about numbers and enjoys reconciling and balancing accounts, which requires an attention to detail and a positive attitude in the midst of occasional stress or time constraints. She has previously held accounting jobs in different industries, but considers accounting for the art industry to be new

and interesting. Though Yancy is not handling artwork on a daily basis, she handles the accounting extremely well, as thousands of invoices are generated every year from the various EC Gallery locations. Yancy particularly likes the work of EC artist Michael Flohr, because his pieces seem to tell a story and she considers them most relatable to real life. Yancy’s experience as an accountant helps her to plan things wisely and efficiently outside of the work environment. Though she loves her job, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children, as well as family and friends.
