(www. swpasynod.org). “Belonging to Each Other in Christ Jesus” was an appro- priate theme for the synod, which met simultaneously with Northwest- ern Pennsylvania. The synods shared several combined sessions, including the highlight: the report of the ELCA representative, Presiding Bishop Eliz- abeth A. Eaton. The synod also held elections for voting members to the 2016 Churchwide Assembly, Synod Council members, and vice president and secretary. —Janice Jeletic

Jesus,” the synod, which met with Southwestern Pennsylvania, shared times of joyous worship, keynote presentations, educational forums and the recognition of anniversaries. Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton honored the synods with her atten- dance as the ELCA representative and her participation in the ordination lit- urgy. Grand Canyon, June 12-13, Mesa, Ariz. Under the theme “Seeing Jesus,” Kathleen Lotz, Emily Singleton and Abby Henderson shared sto- ries of their service as Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM). The $3,500 assembly offering will be divided among the YAGM program in Senegal, the Lutheran Church in Senegal, and the work of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service in Arizona. La Crosse Area, June 12-14, La Crosse, Wis. (www.lacrosseareasynod.org/ assembly). Congregations lived out the assembly theme of “Walk the Word” by donating more than 600 pairs of shoes for clothing clos- ets serving needy residents in their communities. The footwear made a colorful display below the altar dur- ing the closing worship service.
