really banded together as a team. At Nationals, especially, we all just did our job by coming together and we produced some- thing we never thought would be possible. We’ve gotten close to being a family. We can hang out and beat each other up at practice, but then off the mats we can go to the cafeteria and sit there, talking for hours and messing around,” said Miracle. She has made a number of improvements in her wrestling

career, and has even begun to find success on the Senior level. In November 2014, she won the Bill Farrell Memorial International after defeating Jacarra Winchester 10-4. “This whole year, I’ve been winning at the upper-level tourna-

ments. I won the NYAC tournament, which if you asked me last year if I was going to win, I would have probably said no way. I’m starting to win at these bigger tournaments against these older girls that I’m going to have to meet again as I go into the Trials for the Olympics and other big competitions. It’s really starting to be put into perspective that my goals are possible. If I keep grinding through and doing what I’ve been doing, I could make it on to the 2016 Olympic team. Honestly, I had been thinking all along that it would be more realistic for me to think about the 2020 Olympic Games. Now that it’s starting to look like a possibility sooner rather than later though, I’m extremely motivated for this next year,” said Miracle. With a packed schedule on the horizon, she is enthusiastic about the opportunities competing will afford her. “The next couple of months are going to be busy, and I’m really looking forward to it all. In June, we’ll have the World Team Trials for the women’s Senior level team. It would be great to be able to make that Senior World Team, so I could get the chance to travel and compete in that environment,” said Miracle. Miracle says that she has begun focusing more on her train- ing and nutrition.

“Right now I just need to keep focusing on progression and improving on where I am in my wrestling. I think making a Senior World team, and maybe even an Olympic team, is defi-

nitely a possibility at this time. While I’m currently ranked at No. 3 at 55 kg/121 lbs, anything could happen in these next few months,” said Miracle. As she wraps up her first year in college, she is already think- ing about the future.

“I’m planning on adding an education major to my degree plan,” Miracle said. “I would love to go on to coach wrestling after I was done with school. I think it would be a great thing to be able to coach and give back to the sport that has given so much to me.”
