MAN WITH A MULLET ON A MISSION: Jake Herbert was just the No. 10 pre- seed, but the 2009 World silver medalist and 2012 Olympian turned in an impressive performance to capture a U.S. Open championship in Las Vegas.


2 NIGHTS, 24 CHAMPS: An exciting weekend of wrestling saw 24 U.S. Open champions crowned on May 9-10 at South Point Arena in Las Vegas. Surprise winners included Kyle Snyder, Sharon Jacobson and Patrick Martinez.


USAW ELECTIONS: Elections will be held at the next USA Wrestling Board of Directors meeting to fill positions on several Standing Committees. Positions are available on the following committees: Finance, Audit, and Ethics.


TEAM USA FINISHES 2ND AT WORLD CUP: The U.S. came out determined to end Iran’s World Cup reign in freestyle wrestling, but the powerful Iranians earned a hard-fought 5-3 finals win over Team USA on April 12 in Los Angeles.
