G&H checks in for £1.2million hotel contract
A
Yorkshire mechanical and electrical specialist has won its latest London contract with one of the
country’s leading hotel chains. G&H Building Services has been appointed to carry out the full mechanical and electrical works for one of Premier Inn’s new hotel developments. The £1.2 million contract is with building contractor JJ Rhatigan & Company. It will see G&H Building Services install features including air conditioning units and heating and lighting in the 90-bed scheme.
The new Premier Inn is situated above a row of commercial shops in Brixton’s busy high street with new floors being added to accommodate hotel rooms. G&H Building Services’ Pre- construction Director, David Davis,
said: “We have extensive experience working in London and also the leisure industry; this is our second major scheme for Premier Inn. “We have been appointed because of our expertise delivering schemes in the capital that present unique challenges. “It involves invasive work which will also see us relocating and maintaining services from the shops below that include EE, Shop Direct and New Look – all very busy stores. “Limited on-site storage facilities, small delivery areas with restricted access, and highly populated areas like Brixton high street require great experience and we have a proven track record of managing successful ‘just in time’ delivery operations.

Johnstone’s Trade chosen for Fusion21 framework
L
eading coatings brand Johnstone’s Trade has joined forces with award- winning social enterprise Fusion21 on one of its key frameworks. The partnership means that Johnstone’s Trade is now the nominated supplier of coatings to Fusion21’s 60 members across the UK, when they access its External Painting and Repairs framework. These members include a wide range of registered social landlords, local authorities and NHS bodies. Frameworks are a pre-completed route to market providing a vehicle to centralise procurement spend. Using frameworks enables organisations to avoid the high cost and possible time constraints of running their own procurement exercises. Prior to confirming Johnstone’s Trade as the specified coatings manufacturer, Fusion21 evaluated a number of manufacturers’ products to ensure a range of coatings that suited its individual member requirements. This involved representatives from Fusion21 visiting Johnstone’s state-of-the-art facility in Birstall to look at the brand’s manufacturing processes and R&D capabilities to ensure product consistency and quality, as well as assessing product availability through its wide network of Johnstone’s Decorating Centres. Johnstone’s long-held commitment to improving the communities in which

work of this calibre and growing as a business with work across the UK.”
