FLOTSAM & JETSAM RE: WATER WOMEN

In our Spring 2015 issue, pioneering 93-year-old adventurer Audrey Sutherland headlined our look at seven incredible female paddlers (“Water Women,” www.rapidmedia.com/0359). Sadly, Sutherland passed away in March. “It was very inspiring to know at any age we can be an adventurer,” writes Karen Nail O’Hara in a letter to the editor. “This edition featuring notable women kayakers was great—especially Audrey Sutherland,” agrees Sharon Stroble. “I thoroughly enjoyed and was inspired by each female profiled and appreciated the range of viewpoints,” says Justine Pechuzal, who penned one of the feature stories. “I am so happy to see women featured in a major outdoor publication.”

MOULTON AVERY, MEANWHILE, OFFERS THIS SAGE PERSPECTIVE:

“AS A 66-YEAR-OLD PRE- GEEZER, I CAN VOUCH FOR THE LOVELY QUOTES FROM AUDREY SUTHERLAND.”
