Labmate has completed a reader survey across all its titles to analyse how users of equipment buy and source new products as well as how they use different media available to them.
How do you initially fi nd out about new technologies or products? 83% of responders answered Trade Magazines were the main source of how they fi nd out about new products and technology followed by Exhibitions. The internet, according to our results, is used to fi nd out more once they have been introduced to new technology in magazines.
How long on average do you keep your printed magazines?
75% of responders answered for a month or longer. This means the journals are kept, researched, referenced and therefore valued when sourcing new technology and product information. Your advertising message is in constant view of buyers who regularly use their magazine.
How do you request more information about advertising or editorials you see in trade magazines?
61% of responders answered “go to the advertisers website” followed by “email client directly”. Once your advert or editorial have been published watch the traffi c on your website go up!
When purchasing products what infl uences your buying decisions?
The top answer was buying from a recognised brand; the second answer was “after sales service”. The main conclusion to this was people buy from people they know and trust. Make sure your company and brand are seen on a regular basis and make sure you deliver what you promise! Regular advertising will build bonds, trust and awareness.
How many people in your organisation read your copy of the magazine?
68% of responders said three or more people read their copy of the magazine they received from us. Magazines therefore play a crucial role in buying decisions they are read, referenced, referred to and trusted.
