Caribbean Youth Festival Continued

Participants engaged in daily Bible study

sessions; workshops that covered topics dealing with prayer and personal devotions, evangelism,

dance ministry and making

career choices; and a road march through the streets of Roseau that culminated in a gospel concert.

Newly elected president of the Caribbean Baptist Youth Fellowship, Jody Guerero-McKenna of Trinidad and Tobago, told participants, “My prayer is that you return to your territories fully ignited and radically engaged.” She urged them to “hold onto the Word of God, the word which you received at this festival. Hold onto God himself when you feel discouraged. You have to declare like Jacob, ‘I won’t let go until you bless my soul.’” The 11th

festival will be 2017 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Mission was a major highlight of the In partnership

with Samaritan’s

Feet and Samford University in Alabama in the United States, more than 6,000 pairs of shoes were distributed to needy families and in children’s homes across Dominica. Some children who received shoes had their feet washed by festival participants after which they were presented with the shoes. Toys were donated to the children’s ward at the local hospital. Baptist World Alliance Youth Director

Emmett Dunn brought greetings on the behalf of the BWA, served as a Bible study presenter and on a discussion panel. He also participated in the shoe and toy distributions.
