Q: What’s the weirdest place Gillian Flynn has seen people readingGone Girl?—V. W., Los Angeles A: “The truth is I’ve never seen anyone reading it!” says Flynn, 43. Are e- readers to blame? “Maybe so,” she says. “It’s been the great pain of this whole thing. I want to sneak up on someone reading it so I can ask them what they think!” The movie version of her best seller, starring Ben Affleck, is in theaters this weekend. Find out if Flynn is planning a sequel at

What are you most looking forward to with this tour? I’m excited to go to new places. It’s a big thank-you to my American fans for embracing me for who I am. What has been your biggest pinch-me moment since achieving fame? Singing with Donny Osmond! I used to be so mad about him. I had so many marks on my wall as a teenager from his posters. What do you remember most about your 2009 Britain’s Got Talent audition? Everybody was laughing because of my drab appearance, but when they dug deeper, they realized that this woman had a hidden talent—and that talent came through in a surprising way. You shouldn’t ever be held back by what people think of you. You were diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2012. How has that affected you?I’m more relaxed and confi- dent. People have a better understanding of me now. I don’t feel so alienated. Asperger’s is a condition I have to live with, but it hasn’t prevented me from doing what I love. I have a lot more to offer.

Paul Shaffer
Q: What is Paul Shaffer doing after CBS’s The Late Show With David Let- terman ends next year? —Phil J., Cincinnati A: The band leader, 64, is keeping his options open. Shaffer says he might “play piano in the cocktail lounge of a cruise ship” or “go antiquing on American Pickers.” After his guest spot on How I Met Your Mother in 2013, he’s not ruling out acting, either. “Whenever I’ve gotten a chance to act, I’ve loved it,”
he says. “The upside of
this is that the possibili- ties are endless.”
Debra Messing
Q: What does Debra Messing have in common with her new character on NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura? —Bill T., Tulsa A: “I feel a kinship with Detective Laura Diamond in that we’re both very passionate about what we do for a living,” says Messing, 46. “And we’re both madly in love with our children and trying to juggle being a single, working mom with a crazy, erratic schedule.” Messing reveals her favorite Will & Grace moment at
