Take the Challenge Experts say you have to do something at least seven times before it becomes a habit. I challenge you to show your thankfulness in at least seven different ways this week, starting today. Say it, show it, even let ‘because I’m thankful’ be your answer when people ask why you’re smiling so much this week! However, be prepared—this is habit forming.
Put it in Writing In this age of texts, emails, and blogs, taking time to use a pen and paper to write a letter seems so old fashioned. Yet, there is something extra special about receiving a hand-written note in the mail. It’s the perfect time of year to find beautiful thankful-themed cards in stores right now; so think about the people in your life that you are thankful for, put your thankfulness into words, and then into the mail. No special remembrance or compliment is too small to make note of!

Don’t Stop. ‘Tis the season,’ but don’t let your thankfulness stop when the pumpkins are packed back up into storage. Giving thanks in everything means being thankful all year. It means a change in mindset. It means a physiological change in how you respond to others. It means you will see life’s circumstances differently. Let your thankful heart overflow, and watch how God will change you from the inside out in the process.
