10 On Jul 19, 2012 approval of the merger by absorption of Hannover Reinsurance (Ireland) Plc into Hannover Life Reassurance (Ireland) Plc was received, and took effect on Sept 3, 2012. On that date Hannover Reinsurance (Ireland) Plc ceased to legally exist and Hannover Life Reassurance (Ireland) Plc, the transferee company, has since been renamed Hannover Re (Ireland) Ltd.
