Appointments to the CITB Council 2014: Members of the Council
Do you want to be part of the CITB’s governance, in supporting CITB’s leading role in training and skills development for the GB construction industry, and helping to build a globally competitive, knowledge-based UK economy?
CITB is a multi-site organisation across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) employing approximately 1400 people, with an annual income of c£275m, derived from statutory industry levy and commercial activity. CITB is also the largest apprenticeship body in Europe.
CITB has an acknowledged leadership profi le within the industry and after more than 20 years of the Board in its current format, CITB is modernising and reforming its governance systems, to drive industry-wide collaboration and alignment in training and skills provision for current and future needs.
The CITB Council will have up to 23 members and shall refl ect industry stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a consultative and collaborative approach to partnership working, within the Council and with the CITB Board. Applicants will have recent experience within the construction, built environment or associated sectors, gained at senior level. The expected time commitment for the role is on average

CITB is also recruiting a new Board of Trustees and has 7 Trustee vacancies in total; fi ve Trustees are sought from in-scope construction employers and the remaining 2 Trustee vacancies are sought from within the wider market of non-construction industries, for a balanced and independent view. The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills will appoint members to the Board on merit after considering advice from the Appointments Panel.
