Megan Douty

Maryland’s Tewaaraton finalist defender zip lined through Costa Rica’s forests Who is your favorite athlete?

Mia Hamm. I loved her leadership and how she took control of each game.

What’s one thing you can’t live without? Candy. I have the biggest sweet tooth that I inherited from my grandmother. Luckily, I am free of cavities to this day.

Do you have any pregame rituals? Nicole Aust put my hair in a bun one game sophomore year, and to this day she has to do my hair before every game.

What’s on your bucket list? In life, I would like to travel to Greece. I’ve

heard it’s beautiful. In lacrosse, I would love to win another NCAA championship.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Sandra Bullock. She seems so down to earth and really funny.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done? I have gone zip lining through the forests of Costa Rica, one of the most thrilling adventures I have ever experienced.

What did you want to be when you were younger? I wanted to be a teacher. I love children and love being a positive influence on youth.

What is your major?

I am a kinesiology major because I love sports. I want to be in a profession that deals with athletes. Whether through physical training or physical therapy, I have yet to decide.

What has been your favorite class in college? “Children and Sport: A Psychological Perspective,” with one of my

favorite teachers, Dr. Brown. This course helped prepare me for when I have children and want to put them through sports.

What is your favorite inspirational quote? “If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.”

Overtime (from Penn State attacker Maggie McCormick): What is one TV or movie character that you would trade places with? Reggie Rocket from “Rocket Power.” I thought it was so cool that she was good at all of those extreme sports.

Double Overtime (from Caulley Deringer, Alexandria, Va.): Who was your lacrosse idol growing up and why? To be honest, I never had a lacrosse idol because I didn’t know much about the sport at all.
