Rating supplements will be updated EACH MONTH on the USCF website, and each monthly rating supplement will be used for all tournaments beginning in that month, unless otherwise announced in Chess Life. The USCF website at
www.uschess.org also frequently lists unoffi- cial
ratings.The purpose of unofficial ratings is to inform you of your progress; however, most tournaments do not use them for pairing or prize purposes. If you would otherwise be unrated, organizers may use your unofficial rating at their discretion, even without advance publicity of such a policy.
Bids
Note: Organizers previously awarded options for USCF National Events must still submit proposals (including sample budgets) for their events.
OVERDUE BIDS
Please contact the National Office if you are interested in bidding for a National Event. The USCF recommends that bids be submitted according to the following schedule. However, bids may be considered prior to these dates. USCF reserves the right to decline all bids and organize the event itself.

PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS HEALTH AND BENEFITS FUND
Many Grand Prix tournament organizers will contribute $1 per player to the Professional Health & Benefits Fund. All Grand Prix tournaments which participate in this program are entitled to be promoted to the next higher Grand Prix category—for example, a six-point tour- nament would become a 10-point (Enhanced) tournament. Points in the top category are promoted 50%.
