Thermally conductive LED grades


Lehman & Voss has developed a range of thermally conductive polymer compounds targeted at applications in LED lamp housings and components. The new materials,


which are based on PET and PA6, are characterised by thermal conductivities rang- ing from 0.6 to 1.5 W/mK. The grades are electrically insulating and provide tensile strength up to 55MPa and impact strength to 29 kJ/m2


. They also offer


UL94 V-0 flame resistance. According to Lehman &

Elastocon launches snap-fit TPE line


Elastocon 9050 is a new grade of TPE from Elastocon of the US targeted at applications requiring a mechanical snap-fit, such as automotive trim rings or console shifts. The new 50 Shore D TPE is formulated to


provide a good mechanical lock in a range of applications where parts need to be removed for service. The company says the materials also offer good impact performance at low temperatures. Two grades are available: 9050BX is a black


product while 9050X is a natural version for custom colouring. Both offer a dirt resistant, non-gummy surface that will retain an as-new appearance over extended periods of operation. ❙ www.elastocontpe.com


COCs Topas adds moulding option


Topas Advanced Polymers has expanded its line of cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) resins for injection moulding with a new grade – Topas 5013L-10 – with internal mould release. “The boost in processability
