Obsolescence


How often are notification emails sent? The product change notifications are sent to impacted customers as we receive the information from our suppliers. New product introductions are sent on a regular basis, as determined by the number and frequency of new products that we receive from participating suppliers.


Are notification emails also sent internally? To facilitate communication and coordination with customers, all associated Sager personnel are flagged to receive a copy of the emails. Generally, this includes all our sales staff including management, all product marketing personnel and executive staff. In 2013, the system was enhanced to flag supplier contacts and associated manufacturer representatives loaded in our ERP system


as recipients in the process. This provides participating suppliers with a direct copy of the NPI announcements being sent on their behalf, while fostering additional opportunities for communication between the manufacturer representatives and our sales teams.


Can customers ‘opt out’ of receiving communications? How? An opt­out function is included in the system. A customer has the option to remove him/herself from receiving all future editions via an opt­out link included at the bottom of each email. A second link has been included to allow a customer to modify their contact preferences. Additionally, our sales representative may also update a customer’s status within the company’s ERP management system.
