A WINTERS TALE by Mark Cargill


I stand at the water’s edge, perilously close to the rough seas, with the waves crashing on the rocks round about me. I can feel the spray hit my face and wonder if the attached filter has some image-destroying splashes on it as I press the shutter. Fifteen seconds never seemed so long, the capture preview appears… Histogram? Perfect. Image sharpness? I hold my breath as I zoom in. Also perfect, and even the corners are pin- sharp.
