Cobolt DPL lasers Cobolt has released an ultra-compact group of SLM DPSS lasers, at 532nm and 561nm, on the 06-01 Series platform. The 06-01 Series offers a standardised compact form factor and a wide wavelength span in a plug-and-play format.
The compact format and the fully integrated control electronics of all lasers on the Cobolt 06-01 Series make them a flexible choice of laser for system integration. The DPL 532nm is available with output powers of 25mW, 50mW and 100mW, while the DPL 561nm is available with output powers of 25mW and 50mW. The high wavelength stability and the narrow bandwidth (<1MHz) make these lasers suitable for integration into Raman spectroscopy equipment as well as other analytical or metrology instrumentation. Moreover, USB communication simplifies integration making the DPL lasers true plug-and-play.

HeCd replacement laser
Power Technology has developed the 442nm solid
state HeCd replacement laser, the Concerto. This unit is able to overcome limits faced by traditional HeCd lasers and laser diodes. The technology makes it possible to deliver up to 150mW of actively stabilised single-frequency laser light with a spectral bandwidth of less than 5MHz. The Concerto also delivers a coherence length of greater than 100m. This instrument is suitable for applications in holography, security printing,

Frankfurt Laser Company now offers the FEBP line of discrete
spectroscopy, thin film analysis, flow visualisation, optical data storage and semiconductor inspection. A key feature of the Concerto is its MTBF value of greater than 12,000 hours.

mode narrow bandwidth laser diodes from Eblana Photonics of Dublin, Ireland. The diodes come in discrete wavelengths in the range 690- 2,150nm. Outputs up to 10mW from SM/PM optical fibre are available. The laser diodes have low spectral bandwidth and the housing incorporates an optical isolator to ensure performance stability. Frankfurt Laser Company has
also introduced a new line of high- performance, low-cost DPSS green modules from Lasence. The range features modules with output from 1-50mW.
Also available are the FRLD-635- 5.00-FC100-2Pin fibre-coupled laser, emitting at 635nm and delivering 5W from a 105μm core fibre at high brightness; an IR laser diode module for military applications, with 0.9mW output power at 850nm and beam divergence of 0.5mrad.

Multi-bar diode laser module
Dilas has released a fibre- coupled, multi-bar diode laser
module. This micro-channel-cooled unit is capable of delivering up to 6kW output at a wavelength mix of 9xxnm through a 1,000µm, 0.22NA fibre. It combines multi-kilowatt fibre-coupled diode laser power with a small footprint
Diamond E-250 CO2 laser
Coherent has launched the Diamond E-250, a pulsed CO2
laser offering 250W of average power and more than 750W of peak pulse power. The laser has its RF power module integrated within the same housing as the laser tube, eliminating the RF umbilical cable required in older Coherent K-series lasers. With an output wavelength of 10.6µm, the Diamond E-250 is suited to applications such as cutting, drilling, scribing, engraving, and marking of
a variety of materials such as paper, cardboard, acrylic, plastic, glass, ceramics, textiles, denim, leather, rubber, thin metals, wood and stone. Coherent also offers the laser with an output wavelength of 9.4µm. This can process materials such as films and plastics used in mobile devices.

and high efficiency. The 19-inch rack-mountable unit is designed to meet the requirements for OEM customers and system integrators. The laser module is designed as a beam source without an integrated power supply and also without a cooling unit, allowing system integrators a deep integration into their machine. The module has internal electronic sensory elements which monitor parameters like humidity, temperature operating current and other parameters, to ensure safe operation of the unit.

Pulsed laser diode module
OSI Laser Diode has introduced the SCW 1532-500R high-power, pulsed laser diode module that features power higher than 500mW and operates at 1,550nm. It is suited for use in optical spectrum analysers (OSAs) and optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs). The 14-pin butterfly package with an industry-standard pin-out offers good pulse drift performance and high stability. The 1,550nm high power laser diode module is the first in a series of three devices. Two more modules with 1,310nm and 1,625nm wavelengths, respectively, are in development. The laser diode is coupled to an SMF fibre pigtail and includes a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and an electrically isolated temperature- sensing thermistor.
