High-strength thermal adhesive

ergquist has introduced Liqui-Bond® SA 3505 high thermal conductivity adhesive, which helps save the costs and time associated with clip or screw fastening of heatsinks in power supplies and discrete applications. The two-part liquid adhesive can be stored without refrigeration, and achieves high bond strength after heat curing. Liqui-Bond SA 3505 has thermal conductivity of 3.5W/m-K, previously unavailable in a structural adhesive, and displays shear strength of 3.15MPa when cured. Its high bond strength allows use for many purposes including PCB attachment, providing a fast and easy-to-use alternative to conventional fixings. In addition, mild elastic properties help alleviate Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) stresses during thermal cycling. For applications where a consistent standoff or dielectric integrity is critical, Liqui-Bond SA 3505 can be ordered with 0.18mm or 0.25mm glass beads.

MSc (UK) Ltd, manufacturer of the UK’s market-leading voltage optimisation solution, Powerstar, has £50M funding available for
administration to public and private sector companies wishing to invest in implementing specific energy saving technologies. The £50M is for technologies that can deliver a return on investment within a 5 year period, as identified in reports prepared by the NHS Sustainable Development Unit and St Georges University. Funds will be provided interest free for up to 5 years. The funds are only available for the top three technologies - Voltage Optimisation, LED lighting and Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s) - as they have been proven to provide the highest energy savings, across a range of different sized sites.

The series offer rise and fall time control of the test voltage and a stable output which is unaffected by mains voltage variations, plus the ability to select 50 or 60Hz test frequency. Upper and lower current limits can be set within the range of 0.01mA to 110mA in AC mode and 0.01mA to 11mA in DC mode. AC test voltage is settable from 0.05kV to 5kV. D.C test voltages can be varied from 0 to 6kV. All models will operate from any global AC input voltages and frequencies; and are equipped with a USB interface.

Norbar, the world’s leading torque company, has designed the EvoTorque® to ensure that operators have the correct torque output from hard through to soft joints by utilising patent pending motor technology and control software. The EvoTorque® can also safely be used on pre-tightened bolts as part of a joint verification process. The range is available in both 110V and 230V versions. Importantly, the EvoTorque® is weather sealed to IP44 and equipped with a maintenance free motor. Torque control or angle control can be selected by the user on the tool and a clear signal on the tool indicates when the correct torque or angle has been achieved.
