OMG! First-hand look from Tokyo!
In advance of the launch, we sent Ian Burley, technology journalist and founder of
FourThirds-User.com to Tokyo, to meet with Olympus’s
engineers to find out what makes the new OM-D E-M1 tick.
ALSO ANNOUNCED CLICK HERE to read about Ian’s
trip and the new camera.
A brand new camera needs some brand new glass – and Olympus has announced two premium-quality lenses to join the E-M1.
The 12-40mm f/2.8 is dust, splash and freeze proof – just like the camera it’s designed to partner – and will launch at the same time as the E-M1 so photographers can be out in all weathers from the word go.
Olympus also let slip news of the upcoming 40-150mm f/2.8, which will be an equivalent of 80-300mm and offers
f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range, making it perfect for professional action shots.

Got a cupboard full of Zuiko glass? Olympus will give any E-System camera owners a free lens adaptor worth approximately £179 if you purchase the E-M1 by 30 November 2013, so you
can make the most of that new, blisteringly-fast AF – and if you pre-register before the October sales start you’ll also receive an HLD-7 vertical grip completely free! Click here to find out more.
