Avnet Abacus gains first annual European Sales Achievement Award from Harwin

Avnet Abacus has gained the ‘European Sales Achievement Award 2012’ from Harwin, a leading manufacturer of hi-reliability connector and SMT board hardware.
This is the second consecutive year that the distributor has been recognised for sales excellence by Harwin, which named Avnet Abacus ‘Distributor of the Year’ in 2011. This accolade now falls within the broader scope of the European Sales Achievement Award, handed out for the first time this year to Avnet Abacus as a commendation of the high level of support and service accomplished during the past twelve months, which have contributed substantially to the continued success and growth in sales of the Harwin range. Avnet Abacus stocks a wide variety of parts from the Harwin product line, including the EZ-BoardWare range of SMT PCB hardware and

DF59S Series, High Current, Low Profile Mono-Pole Connectors
The DF59S is primarily dedicated for the LED lighting market but also for other applications where miniature connectors are required. The connector range consists of a joint plug and a board mounted
receptacle to give a board-to-board coplanar connection. The receptacle is unmolded to significantly reduce the depth profile of the connector to make it ultra slim to minimise board space. The low mated height profile is only 1.18mm. The DF59S features a unique 3-Axis floating structure. This permits
movement of ± 0.5mm in X and Y directions, and ± 0.2mm in Z direction allowing design flexibility during the installation when multiple boards are used. The joint plug’s contacts are fully recessed into the housing insulator to prevent short circuits. The receptacle features a friction lock that provides a positive tactile sensation and an audible click when mated. This confirms the connector is fully engaged. Although compact in size, DF59S can accept a high current rating of 3A. The creepage distance of 3.05mm complies with IEC60664-1 when 250V voltage rating is applied. A total voltage rating of 350V maximum can be applied when the distance between two sets of connectors is 3mm, 250V can be applied at a distance of 2mm and 200V at 1.5mm. For more information contact
