Apart from an Alasdair Roberts, Irvine Arditti & Elaine Mitchener session for BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction on Thurs June 13th, no other programme producer, presenter or PR from the BBC had anything to tell us about radio or TV programmes taking place that contain music of relevance to fRoots. So we can only conclude that they aren’t broadcasting any in June…

Mary Ann Kennedy is to be at the heart of a major new commission for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, teaming up with Canadian composer Scott Macmillan and others. They will work together on a collaborative composition for classical and traditional musicians and electronica, with real-world installation/intervention that will be given four scheduled UK performances.
Andrew Cronshaw would like to apologise for confusion in last issue’s Celina da Piedade piece between the late fado singer, composer and producer Rui Vaz, brother of Stockholm Lisboa Project singer Micaela Vaz, and Rui Vaz of Gaiteiros de Lisboa, who is very much alive.
