McEwan roars to Team USA Trials Repeat For the past two years,
Danielle McEwan has entered the Team USA Trials with the goal of simply earning a spot on Team USA. And on each occasion the Stony Point, N.Y., native reached her goal with an added bonus…Team Trials Champion.
The 21-year-old stormed past top seed Diandra Asbaty of Chicago, 267- 194, to successfully defend her title at Sunset Station in Henderson, Nev. In addition to winning the Team Trials and securing her spot on Team USA, McEwan will represent the U.S. at the QubicaAMF World Cup later this year.
Szczerbinski of North Tonawanda, N.Y., upended defending champion Marshall Kent of Yakima, Wash., 218-211, to win the title and earn a trip to the World Cup. John Janawicz of Winter Haven, Fla., finished third. All three bowlers earned automatic spots on Team USA. The National Selection
Committee selected Chris Barnes, Bill O’Neill, Tommy Jones, Mike Fagan and Steve Smith to the men’s squad based on resumes, and added Eddie VanDaniker and Kyle King based on their Trials performances. Liz Johnson, Kelly Kulick, Shannon O’Keefe, Stefanie Nation and Shannon Pluhowsky were selected to the women’s team based on resumes. Brittni Hamilton and Missy Parkin were added based Trials performance.

selves as bowling’s “First Couple,” enter- tainer Kanye West and reality TV star Kim Kardashian will set aside room in their 10,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion for a pair of bowling lanes. The celebrity couple, who have picked up the moniker “Kimye,” recently pur- chased the $10.75 million property and plan to expand (after all, a baby bowler is on the way!) with the bowling lanes, a basketball court, movie theater and full hair and makeup salon. Kardashian, of course, is already a not-
