One of the key elements in shot repeat- ability is hitting your mark. All bowlers pick a target on the lane that they feel will get their ball to the proper breakpoint. But while hitting your mark with consis- tency is largely reliant on your physical game, all bowlers do not take the same mental approach to hitting that mark. Even at the professional level, bowl- ers employ diff erent approaches to consistently hitting their mark.
Mika Koivuniemi: Of course, if you have a straight swing it’s much easier to hit your target. I walk around the ball to maintain a straight
swing, which to me is the most important thing. Make room for a straight swing and straight pushaway. The straighter you can keep your swing, the better you will bowl under pressure as well. Mike Fagan: I try to base everything on my lower body.
