OPP AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE 2013

Whilst you are off basking in the glory of your 2012 awards, bear a thought for those of us already slaving away on the OPP Awards for Excellence 2013! We intend to make a number of changes next year. Five big ones.

1.We want to make the awards FREE TO ENTER (at least, for the fi rst category for which you apply). This should bring in a lot more entries and make the awards even more credible and relevant. Of course, for the winners it will mean even greater prestige.

2. We will introduce just a few more categories. As our world of international real estate grows both geographically and in terms of the range of products we sell and the support services we use, the awards must be updated to refl ect these changes. We will be announcing these new categories through OPP and OPP Connect in the new year,

3. We will introduce a formal short-listing procedure. This will be essential if we have a lot more entrants but it will be useful to all of our entrants. You will know, before you book fl ights to or tickets for the gala dinner, whether you are in the last six!

4. The closing date for applications will change. By introducing the short-listing procedure, the judging process will – inevitably – take a little longer. As a result, we will have to launch the awards about 6 weeks earlier and the deadline for applications will be brought forward from the end of July to mid-June.

5. The awards presentation and gala dinner will move from the Wednesday immediately before OPPLive to the fi rst night of OPPLive. The venue is already booked. You will love it but I am sworn to secrecy! We believe that these changes will all help make the awards better and even more valuable as a mark of distinction.

So, whether you won an award this year or not, we look forward to receiving your entry for the OPP Awards for Excellence 2013.
