Tackling neglect


An NSPCC/Cardiff University resource will help professionals identify emotional neglect and emotional abuse in children under six.

Safe swimming


A new guide from the National Deaf Children’s Society shows how deaf children can be taught to swim.

Career help (KS2)


Developed by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Equal Choices, Equal Chances is a set of free online resources introducing pupils to the breadth of careers and further/higher education options available to them. Research shows that careers education should start in primary school.

Wuff upon a time (KS1/2)


The Kennel Club’s Bark and Read Foundation improves pupils’ literacy skills and confidence by encouraging them to read to specially trained dogs. It costs schools nothing to take part.

Build a Heart (KS3/A level)


The British Heart Foundation’s ‘Build-a-heart’ competition asks groups of children to make a model of a heart from household materials, showing how it works. Closing date 30 November.
