ABOUT THE TRUST FOR PUBLIC LAND

The Trust for Public Land (TPL) conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. Working from more than 30 offices nationwide, TPL offers a range of

services to address the conservation needs of the 21st century. TPL helps communities plan for growth, raise funds, acquire land, renovate parks and playgrounds, and conduct conservation research. TPL works to protect the places people care about and to create close- to-home parks, particularly in and near cities, where 85 percent of Americans live. TPL’s goal is that every child will have easy access to a safe place to play. TPL conserves working farms, ranches, and forests; lands of historical and cultural importance; rivers, streams, coasts, and watersheds—lands where all Americans can experience nature close to home. Since 1972, TPL has completed more than 5,200 park and conservation projects, conserved more than 3 million acres, and helped generate more than $33 billion in state and local conservation funding—all made possible by the generosity of supporters like you. Because we pool funds from many sources, every $1 donated to TPL conserves more than $5 worth of land.
