How technology plays a role in the business strategy of GR-NEAM: We have always viewed technology as a core- competency and differentiator for GR-NEAM. Our highly inte- grated and scalable systems environment allows us to offer competitive and unique solutions for our insurance clients. We understand the unique requirements of managing insurance company’s investment portfolios and we reflect that under- standing in our technology. We believe in transparency and cli- ent empowerment and allow client’s access to our models and tools through our client portal and to the CARA®
Toolset.
The top priorities for the coming year: No. 1 is to support the business priorities for the firm. To that end, we have some new initiatives in the area of sub-advised senior secured loans and high yield bond mandates and we are integrating these new security types across our systems. The continued globalization of our business and expansion into Europe via our subsidiary, GR-NEAM Limited has required additional systems capabilities to support these markets. Finally, we are continuing to enhance the stress testing and risk management capabilities of our CARA®
Toolset to address the unique conditions of today’s capital markets and the potential for extreme outcomes.

proprietary capital and risk analytic platform and it is an integral component of the investment technology solutions that differen- tiate us from other asset management firms. The CARA®
toolset
is a workbench of tools and models used by our investment professionals to aid in setting investment policy, to manage and assess risk of client portfolios and to steward and provide surveillance on the securities we manage. We have also config- ured our Client Risk Portal to access this same workbench so clients are empowered with virtually all of the timely information and analytics that we use in the management of their portfolios.
