Topping the S

ales growth has been matched by an expansion of a global customer base spanning Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. The strong increase in worldwide coverage can largely be attributed to the dominance of MIA in high profile golf industry events particularly regarding its presence at major tournaments. The popularity and constant demand of the world’s most accurate and portable launch monitor, FlightScope, has provided MIA with some high profile exposure, dominating the BMW PGA Championship and the Open Championship 2012. At the PGA Championship FlightScope tracked the 1st and 18th holes, where the club and ball data was delivered to the spectators on large format video walls throughout the 4 days of tournament. The success of MIA at the PGA Championship lead to their invitation to The Open Championship, Royal Lythem & St Annes. At the Open MIA and FlightScope dominated the tournament in more ways than ever before. FlightScope tracked the 16th tee where screen shots of the measured parameters were broadcast by the BBC straight to the Television footage of the event. The FlightScope X2 also worked in conjunction with HSBC, Official Patron of The Open Championship to enhance an interactive experience, The HSBC Golf Zone, provided to all visitors to the Championship. FlightScope’s support to HSBC was in two key areas. The practice ground is always a favourite destination for visitors and this year saw 4 FlightScope X2 systems located on the range connected by wireless technology to Apple iPads. As players practiced, detailed performance data was delivered directly to the iPad in real time allowing the pro’s to fine tune their games as they prepared for their rounds. The data was also transmitted to the HSBC Golf Zone where it was displayed to members of the public on a 50” screen in the FlightScope section, accompanied by video footage of the range. Those visitors inspired and intrigued by what they saw on the practice range could then try out the technology for themselves in the 4 bay FlightScope Driving Range – 3 adults and 1 junior – located within the Zone installed with the new software, FlightScope Skills.

MIA Sports Technology, leading distributor of technology products has grown rapidly since being founded in 2007 and now arguably tops the leaderboard in terms of the brands in its portfolio and the innovation it applies in bringing these to the market as integrated solutions.

The start of the trade show season will also provided further exposure for MIA, exhibiting at Golf Europe and The Golf Show Harrogate with their leading technologies:
