WIRED 2012: what to expect
500 delegates, 40 speakers and 28 sessions over two stimulating days. So what was WIRED 2011 about?
wired 2011 played host to 28 inspiring talks and presentations by 40 of the world’s most influential and innovative people. Where else would Facebook’s EMEA vice-president Joanna Shields precede a talk by the provocative author with “digital vertigo” Andrew Keen? How many conferences can boast Peter Sunde, founder of The Pirate Bay, rubbing shoulders with Rory Sutherland, vice-chairman of world class ad agency Ogilvy Group UK? Butwired 2011 wasn’t just about big-name talks.
Discussion panels debated the future of music, publishing and robotic interfaces. Breakfast meetings planned for the trading landscape of 2025, while interactive presentations engaged the
audience. After-parties – planned and otherwise – ensured delegates and speakers found an ideal atmosphere in which to network, for ideas to evolve and creativity to flourish. By the end of day two, aswired’s inaugural
conference came to a close, planning had already begun onwired 2012. And howwired could make it even better. wired 2012 is set to yet again exceed
expectations and planning is in full flow with over 20 speakers confirmed to take part already. Watch this space for more details on the agenda and speakers over the coming weeks and check out

TESTIMONIALS
“It is a great experience to be exposed to so many speakers and concepts over such a short space of time. It’s been thrilling, I can’t wait for next year.”
Rohan Silva, speaker at WIRED 2011, senior policy adviser to David Cameron, member of the WIRED 100
“It is great for all these big brands to be in this space, WIRED 2011 bringing us all together and creating a great audience. The speakers are great and there is fantastic networking which is very valuable. Another positive from the event is the chance to actually meet all of the editors and others, who work on WIRED, in the flesh.”
Herb Kim, founder of Thinking Digital and CEO of Codewords, WIRED 100
