The SECC is Scotland’s largest indoor entertainment venue and with the opening in 2013 of its new, iconic world-class entertainment venue “The Scottish Hydro Arena”, it will place the SECC in the top 5 busiest indoor music arenas in the world. With a capacity of 12,000, The Hydro will augment the SECC’s existing facilities and will play host to around 140 events per year.
The Company’s hospitality venture – Sounds Good – has been developed to deliver an exceptional and unique customer experience, providing the visitor with access to top- rated live events throughout the year. The combination of this new landmark venue and exemplary customer engagement means the potential for growth is truly outstanding.
The sponsorship team are also delivering a range of key commercial partners who will further help to make the venue world-class through their respective activation programmes.
As a result there is a unique opportunity for a talented Director of Concerts, Events & Ticketing to join the senior management team reporting to the Group CEO. The brief is to establish themselves and the Hydro as leaders within their field. You will be working for a highly recognised brand, taking responsibility for a key part of leading the next stage of the SECC’s continued success. The Hydro will be internationally iconic in its own right and you and your team will play a significant part in that success story, bringing the biggest names in music and entertainment to Scotland.
To be successful, you will have proven experience of delivering within a pro-active sales environment preferably gained within the entertainment sector. You will have experience of a variety of live entertainment formats that could include; comedy, sports, music, various touring productions and televised events. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the local and international markets and the specific challenges and opportunities these present. You will be someone who can genuinely make a difference, someone who is driven, focussed and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of what is required to develop and drive the business.

The negotiable remuneration package has the flexibility to attract the best in the industry. The package will include a significant base salary, bonuses, car and other benefits.
