UK AIRPLAY ANALYSIS  BY ALAN JONES

With all shedding more or less the same number of listeners, there’s no change in the top three of the radio airplay chart, with Rita Ora’s How We Do (Party) registering its second week atop the list. Losing 3.32 million listeners, despite increasing its tally of plays from 2,823 to 3,372, the track drew 29.16% of its audience from 20 plays on Radio 1, and a further 25.06% from 504 plays on the Capital network. After jumping 8-2 last week, Summer Paradise by Simple Plan feat. Sean Paul, adds

257 plays but loses 3.72m listeners. And after dipping to three last week following nine weeks at the summit, Maroon 5’s Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa) loses further plays and audience, with the former off 272 week-on-week, and the latter declining 2.61m. Barely registering on the radio

prior to her performance of the track at the Olympic Games’ closing ceremony, Emeli Sandé’s Read All About It (Part III) is making up for lost time at a rate of knots. Completely absent from the Top

That Girl) making a 57.04% contribution, and contrasting sharply with the track’s single play on sister station, Radio 1. The Capital network, which has previously been a big supporter of Sandé, also provided meagre support for Read All About It last week, granting just 18 plays across its network at an average of two apiece. The track was given major support by the Heart network (315 plays from 15 stations, an average of 21 apiece) and had a top tally of 30 plays on KMFM. While Sandé has the week’s

biggest increase in audience, Taylor Swift’s new single, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, turns in

the week’s biggest increase in plays, jumping from a first-week tally of 691 to 1,306. Its 89.01% increase in plays was almost matched by an 81.26% surge in audience to more than 32.10 million, enough for it to rocket 52- 16 on the radio airplay chart. The gap between Nicki Minaj’s

Pound The Alarm’s radio and TV profile continues to grow, with the track descending 45-51 on radio but racking up its third straight week atop the TV airplay chart, with its promotional video gaining 722 airings in the week, 10 more than Wiley’s Heatwave, which is the unlucky runner-up also for the third time.
