Fairmont Hotels & Resorts ‘Meetings That Matter’

Fairmont strives to be not only an outstand- ing, ethical employer, but also a community leader respectful of the extraordinary places where it operates. Now more than ever, meet- ings and conferences have the potential to make a positive impact beyond the meeting room, as companies and planners alike seek out ways to give back to the communities and destinations where they gather. That’s why Fairmont has introduced the Meetings That Matter program to help the luxury brand’s associates, colleagues, and guests become involved in making a difference. For many years, Fairmont has offered

green conferencing solutions through the brand’s Eco-Meet program, which has reduced the environmental impact of meet-

ings and events from Dallas to Dubai. Wheth- er it’s cleaning up local waterways, assisting local shelters, or building homes for Habitat for Humanity, every Fairmont hotel now offers a powerful way for groups to give back. These activities are gaining a reputation for fostering stronger ties among colleagues and attendees who work together to leave a posi- tive impression on their chosen destination, while also creating lasting memories. Additionally, Fairmont is offering a Meet-

ings That Matter charitable donation com- ponent throughout 2012. Planners booking a new meeting with a minimum of 50 room nights can donate 10 percent of the room revenue generated by the event to a chari- table organization. Planners can determine

Delta Air Lines Expanding customer options

In recent months, Delta Air Lines has made major strides in a number of areas, looking to better fit its customers’ needs. Delta recently began service to 11 new cit-

The new flights are part of a major expansion by Delta to cre- ate a domestic hub in the busiest aviation market in the world. The airline will increase service at LaGuardia by 60 percent, with 100 new flights and 26 new destinations in spring and summer 2012. When its full schedule is implemented, Delta will operate more than 260 daily flights between LaGuardia and more than 60 cities — exceeding any other carrier’s offerings. Delta has also been enhancing its Delta
