America, a lot of stations just didn’t play his music. He was taboo to a certain extent,” explains Walden. “But here was an artist that we felt had this


incredible catalogue and enormous talent and performance ability,” he adds. “We felt that there had to be a live audience out there and he wasn’t performing live. He hadn’t toured for 10 years or something and at the time it didn’t look like he was going to. So by creating this show we felt there was a market there.” It wasn’t an easy start.
