The coral reefs of Raja Ampat, an archipelago off the northwest tip of West
Papua (formerly called Irian Jaya Barat), an Indonesian province on New Guinea, is one of the richest marine habitats on Earth. Dozens of new species of fish, shrimp, and coral (including two new
species of sharks that actually walk on their fins) have recently been discovered in these waters.
