I was provided with a BNF (bind and fly) Scimitar since I fly with a JR 9503 2.4 GHz radio. The box that arrived at my door was rather large, and I couldn’t wait to tear it open. Once I did so, I was surprised at how large the Scimitar actually is, with a 42.5-


inch wingspan. Initial impressions were ex- ceptional, with the fit and finish of the foam being some of the best I have seen. Large ar- eas of bright red complement the white and black accents on the craft. The center sec- tion of the fuse arrives largely ready to go with only a few nuts and bolts between you and wild 3D flying! To push the boundaries of flight, the Scimitar features E-flite’s patented Carbon- Z technology. This combination of E-flite’s proven Z-foam along with carbon fiber rein- forcement means you get an airframe that is ready for any high-G maneuver you can throw at it. The airframe also has strategi-


cally placed plastic protective covers on ar- eas like the wing tips to eliminate hangar rash. The Scimitar comes with a pre-installed


E-flite Power 32 1010 Kv brushless outrun- ner, E-flite 60-amp ESC and six digital ser-


vos (one for lateral thrust vectoring). A 4S 3200 mAh Li-Po is also included, as well as a basic charger. My bind and fly airframe came with an AR600 6-channel receiver as well. Time to get to work. The Scimitar comes with all the necessary hardware for fixed gear, with retracts being optional. You will need to decide which route you want to go right off the bat. Instructions
