It’s no mystery that breasts change with age, but what’s really happening to them? Emily F. Pollard, MD, a Philadelphia-area plastic surgeon, says, “The breast is a sex organ that responds to all your hormones, so as those hormones fluctuate, decrease, or diminish over time, your breasts will respond.” In more technical terms‚


breasts are made up of skin‚ glandular tissue‚ fat‚ and connective tissue. Here’s a look at what happens to each of these components over time. Skin: Thins and loses elasticity.
