Alice Gong, MD, professor of pediatrics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, began thinking about her future in medicine last year while putting together a presentation on aging physicians for the Texas Pediatric Society. She learned many of them don’t plan to retire any time soon but are grappling with concerns about what they’ll do when they do retire.
