RIVA DEL GARDA PREVIEW Expo Riva Schuh:
Beating the crisis with high quality services and innovative selections F
ootwear Business Event at Riva del Garda, 16-19 June T
he international scene and the needs of global operators are changing. For this reason, trade shows have to be able to “change their spots”, recasting themselves in a new role without losing their unique identity.
Expo Riva Schuh has clearly accomplished this successfully; despite the challenging period facing fairs throughout Europe, Riva del Garda continues to be a leading event for the volume production footwear industry.
Now approaching its 78th edition, the Riva
del Garda event is continually evolving; with each passing edition, the fair becomes less a pure exhibition of merchandise and more a business platform able to offer dedicated services and effectively meet the needs of dealers and visitors. The numbers show it’s a formula that works.
The last edition drew over 12,500 visitors from
more than 100 countries. Companies and operators come from all over the world to attend
the Riva del Garda event; and, these numbers are even more impressive considering that current technologies mean you no longer have to physically travel to see and purchase products.
The explanation is, people don’t just come to Expo Riva Schuh “to look at” and “find out about” offerings, but to finalise orders and enter into business agreements. The findings confirm that 75% of visitors entering a stand at Riva del Garda make a purchase: in this sense, the Riva del Garda event confirms its role as a true marketplace for business.
One of the reasons for this success in
generating such high business volume has to do with its extensive and wide range of offerings representing the world’s most important footwear industry hubs. The more than 32,000 m2 (net) exhibition area houses the collections of 1,200 companies; more than 800 of these are international, representing 40 different countries throughout Europe and Central Europe as well as emerging markets.
The fair is also well diversified in terms of
restocking options. In addition to previewing Spring/Summer 2013 offerings, national and international buyers can also find restocking options for Autumn/Winter 2012-13, allowing them to supplement previous purchases based on market trends.
Business development is also supported by the high quality of services, something Expo Riva Schuh has always emphasised. The trade show is proving itself to be ever more pivotal in comparing and exchanging information and know-how: dealers are increasingly aware of how strategically important and invaluable information about international market trends and industry opportunities and trends is for planning the season.
