LAYING out their favourite tunes of the moment are Manchester-based duo Ghost Season, aka Gavin Miller and Thomas Ragsdale. Their debut album, ‘The Very Last Of The Saints’ (released on 14th May by Sasha’s Last Night On Earth label), is as gossamer and ethereal as their moniker suggests, a slow-burning collection of hazy electronic new-gaze in the same vein as The Field, Aphex Twin or even Radiohead.
With a taste for melodic progressions that might once
have been labelled ‘progressive’, their chart takes in Wesley Matsell’s arpeggiated ‘Bernwerk’ on Border Community and Scuba’s acidic ‘The Hope’ on Hotflush, alongside an epic 11-minute remix of Brookylnites Blondes and Shackleton and Jackson Del Ray’s deep sea dubstep of ‘Next To Nothing’ on Crosstown Rebels.
Check Ghost Season’s single ‘A Muffled Sound Of Voices’ (out now), which features remixes from Luke Abbott, Ed Davenport, Jack Dixon, Jamie Funk and Bubba.
