“What makes St Andrews particularly valuable is its rigorous academic environment, but also its cultural diversity. The University offers a more personal tutorial system, not unlike the ancient Indian pedagogy of learning from a great master – the guru-shishya tradition. The lecturers are really some of the best in their respective fields, actively engaged in their own research, and enriching lectures and tutorials with fresh, novel perspectives. Likewise, studying with people from diverse cultures provides a range of influences, while fostering a greater understanding of one’s own. It is, however, the historical setting that truly inspires, helping discover one’s own potential.”
