Matt Emerson DIRECTOR, AMERICAS


We’re delighted to announce that Matt Emerson joins Burgess this month, from Camper & Nicholsons where he was previously President of Camper & Nicholsons USA. The appointment of this much-respected and senior industry player is a sign of our commitment to the US market and to our offices on both the east and west coasts. In his new Burgess role at our Manhattan office on the Upper East Side, Matt takes responsibility for developing new sales, charter and management opportunities not only in North America, but also extending our reach into Central and South America.

Sonia Palfrey 3 CHARTER MANAGER


Joining from Camper & Nicholsons, where she was Director of Charter Management for 9 years, Sonia has over 30 years experience in the global superyacht industry. Her career spans roles at Bartram & Brakenhoff, her own management business and joint ownership of the charter management agency V.E.B. Nicholson & Sons in Newport, Rhode Island. Over the years, Sonia has been active in almost all the major prestigious yachting events and regattas. In addition to work on the America’s Cup, she has been directly involved in the Antigua Charter Yacht Show and the women’s J22 sailing programme based at Ida Lewis Yacht Club in Newport, Rhode Island.

Andy McNab YACHT MANAGER


Andy McNab joined our New York team in 2011, his appointment prompted by the growing number of US-owned superyachts under Burgess management. Andy is a well-known figure in the industry, with extensive yacht building and yacht management experience, including seven years as Director of Yacht Management at MCM in Newport, Rhode Island.

Jenny Burgess CHARTER MANAGER

Jenny joins us after nearly 5 years at Camper & Nicholsons in Monaco, where she managed a portfolio of over 20 charter yachts with bases including French Polynesia, the Maldives, the Caribbean and throughout the Mediterranean. Jenny graduated in Marketing Management and her well honed skill set will be applied to actively promote our fleet of superyachts for charter.

Britta Ax CHARTER MANAGER


German-born and multilingual, Britta had a background in international trade before entering the superyacht industry via the brokerage department of Camper & Nicholsons, soon switching to the charter management department, where she worked for 6 years. She has a wealth of specialist experience in managing superyacht charters, along with a passion for travel and exploration.

Charmaine du Plessis CHARTER MANAGER


Charmaine recently joined Burgess from Merle Wood & Associates, where she was executive assistant to the yacht brokerage team in the superyacht division. She has previously worked for International Yacht Collection and for Skaf Design Group where she was involved in luxury yacht outfitting and refitting. She knows how to meet the expectations of yacht owners and her addition to the team will ramp up our service offering to our American-based yacht owners.
