In its 7th year, Data Center University™ (DCU) offers industry-leading education for IT professionals‚ facilities managers‚ engineers‚ designers‚ consultants‚ and anyone involved in the critical decisions and infrastructure planning of data centers worldwide. DCU provides a full curriculum of more than 70 courses that educate and deliver up-to-the-minute information on planning, implementation, configuration, power, cooling, security when and where you need it. The DCU online program is intended to be manageable and attainable‚ and includes an option for Certification.
The cooling curriculum alone accounts for over 10 courses of the DCU catalog. Below are some highlights of data center cooling courses that are available:
Introductory level for professionals who need to update knowledge Fundamentals of Cooling Architectures: Explores the various approaches to cooling the data center, along with the appropriate application for each of the architectures discussed.
Fundamentals of Cooling Part 1: Covers topics such as the refrigeration cycle, ideal gas law, condensation, convection and radiation, heat generation and transfer, and precision vs. comfort cooling.
Fundamentals of Cooling Part 2: Topics include humidity, temperature management and control, humidification strategies and systems, demand fighting and appropriate operating thresholds for maximum efficiency and cost savings.
Intermediate level for those who are actively deploying solutions Advantages of Row and Rack-Oriented Cooling Architectures 1: This course contrasts room, row, and rack architectures.
Advantages of Row and Rack-Oriented Cooling Architectures 2: Topics include capacity utilization, humidification, electrical efficiency, water and refrigerant heat transport piping, location, and redundancy.
Power and Cooling for the New Digital Hospital: This course explains how to plan for power and cooling physical infrastructure when deploying medical imaging and diagnostic equipment.
Cooling Strategies for IT Wiring Closets and Small IT Rooms: Provides instruction for design and installation of cooling equipment and includes proper sizing to maximize efficiency of multiple types of closets and rooms.
