Cambridge University Press acquires Australian journals


Cambridge University Press has acquired the journal list of the Australian Academic Press (AAP), consisting of 19 titles either owned by AAP or published on behalf of several learned societies.


The AAP journals are internationally-recognised, peer-reviewed titles that


specialise in psychology, neuropathology, rehabilitation and behavioural science. They showcase Australian and New Zealand content alongside international contributions and several specialise in research within Australasia and the Pacific. journals.cambridge.org


Tool promises bibliographic database quality and superior navigation


SkyRiver has announced the deployment of Release 3.2 of its cataloguing client software. The release promises several new features that highlight some of SkyRiver’s database functionality. Other enhancements have made the SkyRiver bibliographic database easier to navigate so that cataloguers quickly find matching records, says the company.


One of the key new features is single-click headings verification. This is claimed to offer superior record validation against the LC authority record database. In addition, the new release includes streamlined browse searching with highlighting of previously- viewed entries on browse lists and expanded use of progress bars during searches. www.theskyriver.com

Open access journal focuses on pharmacometrics and systems


Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and the American Society for Clinical


Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) have announced a new, open-access journal CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology will be a companion title to Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and will also an official journal of the American Society of Pharmacometrics.


This cross-disciplinary journal promises to be devoted to publishing original research in advances in quantitative methods as applied in pharmacology, physiology and therapeutics in humans. The common focus will be on quantitative methods that improve an understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics in humans. www.nature.com


Seven Brill titles move to Taylor & Francis


Taylor & Francis Group will be adding seven journals to its science, technology and engineering portfolio. These titles, which are transferring from Brill Academic Publishers, cover a range of topics in materials and surface science, electromagnetics, and robotics.


The titles are: Advanced Composite Materials; Advanced
