Product update Brain atlas app launches


Elsevier has launched NeuroApps: MRI Atlas of Human White Matter. This is the first in a new series of apps created for the iPad and is based on the MRI Atlas of White Matter by Kenichi Oishi, Andreia V. Faria, Peter C M van Zijl and Susumu Mori.


The new, interactive application is said to enable researchers, clinicians and students to find, visualise, and learn to identify the major pathways through the brain


and their proximity to key neuroanatomical structures. The app also allows the user to scroll through the brain in sequence to follow a tract from beginning to end. www.elsevier.com


EBSCO adds occupational health content


Haz-Map has been added to ExPub from EBSCO Publishing, a resource that provides up-to-date chemical hazard information for environmental health and safety professionals. Haz-Map is designed to provide information about the health effects of exposure to chemicals and biological agents in the workplace.


Haz-Map is said to reference hundreds of resources and link jobs and hazardous tasks with occupational diseases and their symptoms. It contains profiles on thousands of chemicals – focusing on uses, adverse effects, and other information needed for exposure assessment. www.ebscohost.com


Springer launches medical review journals


Springer has launched six quarterly, clinical-review journals, focusing on dermatology, geriatrics/ gerontology, nutrition, obesity, obstetrics/gynaecology and respiratory care. Editorial responsibilities will be carried out at the Springer Philadelphia office. The review journals are

EMBO Molecular Medicine moves to open-access publishing model Wiley-Blackwell and EMBO have announced that EMBO Molecular Medicine has joined the Wiley Open Access publishing programme. Mathematics book series launches


Springer and the Italian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SIMAI) will partner to publish a new book series: SIMAI Springer Series. The series will include research-level monographs, advanced textbooks and collected works in English, focusing on the applications of mathematics to social and industrial problems, say the partners. www.springer.com


Historical databases discoverable in EBSCO Discovery Service American County Histories to 1900: New England and The Civil War: Parts V and IV are being included in EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). Maney announces seven new journals


Maney Publishing is adding seven new journals to its portfolio in 2012. New partnerships for the publisher this year include the European Association of Archaeologists, the European Medical Writers Association, The International Institute for Conservation of


Historic and Artistic Works, and The Chinese Historians in the United States.
