Lighting plays an important role in energy and carbon reduction. However, due consideration must first be given to lighting the task appropriately, by selection of appropriate light source, control gear, operational times and equipment. Only once the right quality of light is achieved should energy and carbon reductions be considered to provide the required quality of light as efficiently as possible.
