News Belling selects its Centenary Charity Anthony Nolan named Belling’s Centenary Year Charity


BELLING has announced that Anthony Nolan, a pioneering stem cell charity, will be Belling’s Charity of the Year. The kitchen manufacturer is hoping to raise at least £10,000 for Anthony Nolan as part of its centenary celebrations. Belling will work closely


with the charity on a year- long programme of activities which will include staff fundraising and a contribution from sales of a product range created especially for the brand’s 100th year.

PHILIPS has unveiled its 2012 television line-up, covering the budget to mid-range sector of the market.


Smart TV functionality – for the first time featured on smaller screen sizes – features within the new line- up which also includes both passive and active 3D technology.


The 3000 series are Full HD LCD TVs with 100HZ picture processing, 100,000:1 contrast ratio, a single USB slot for multimedia playback and 3 HDMI inputs.


The step up 3500 series is the first of Philips LED sets with a 500,000:1 contrast level and the first range to add Smart TV and DLNA functionality with wireless connectivity via an optional USB adaptor.


The 4000 series includes Philips Pixel Plus HD


processing and 200Hz Perfect Motion Rate for super images. The TVs are also LAN ready and can access the internet via the multimedia home network.


The 6000 series is the first Ambilight range in Philips’ new TV line-up featuring the Ambilight Spectra 2 system and an improved 400Hz Perfect Motion Rate. Other features include integrated Wi-Fi connectivity and voice and video calls via Skype. The series is also the first in Philips’ portfolio to include 3D technology via the passive Easy 3D system. Finally, the 7000 series adds Philips’ Pixel Precise HD processing and 800Hz Perfect Motion Rate and the active shutter 3D Max system. All of the new sets will be available in the second quarter of 2012.
