Marilyn Kelly (BA60) has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Family Law Section of the State bar of Michigan and was also inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame by the Michigan Women’s Historical Society.
Brian Einhorn (BS63) has been selected to appear in the 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America for his work in legal malpractice law.
Sally Labadie (BS63, MA70) published her new book, “Wooster the Rooster” through Halo Publishing International.
Karl Heise (BA64) has retired after 35 years of service as a professor of Spanish language, literature and culture and as a
study abroad coordinator at Minnesota State University of Mankato, Minn.
Jim Sargent (BS64) has co- authored “The South Bend Blue Sox”, a history of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, published through McFarland Inc.
Marie Hardy-Russ (BME67, MA74) has retired after more than 30 years as a music teacher at Ypsilanti Public Schools.

Mary Kobane (MA75) has retired after 39 years of teaching at Riverside High School in Dearborn Heights and after 33 years as a community college professor in Orange County, Calif.
Verla Powers (MA75) has had her novel “Child of Desire” published by Tate Publishing Company & Enterprises.
Donald Mroz (MA78) is now the provost of Post University in Waterbury, Conn.

Born to Be an Eagle
When? Nov.-Dec. 2011. Where? Constanza, Dominican Republic
Lynn Babcock, Ed.D. (BA66, MA76, SPA80) and Pam Olech (BS74, MA76, SPA80) bring the spirit of EMU to the village of Constanza in the Dominican Republic. The two were on a 7-day project with the National Association Elementary School Principals (NAESP) to build the first—and only—school for local children. The total of 47 volunteers on the project included represen- tatives from the National Association Secondary School Principals (NAASP), American Association School Administrators (AASA) and Lifetouch School Pictures.
